Prevention Before
Snowfall:
Preparing your
satellite dish before winter weather arrives can help minimize snow
buildup and signal disruptions. Applying a spray-on repellent, like DuPont Teflon Snow and Ice Repellant (10 oz.), can create a slick
surface that helps snow slide off more easily. However, keep in mind
that this is a preventative measure—not a complete solution. In cases
of heavy snowfall, you may still need to clear off your dish to
maintain optimal reception.

When it snows, gently dust your Dish.
Snow
accumulation can impact your TV signal, but a little care goes a long
way. To keep your service uninterrupted, use light pressure to brush
off any snow or ice buildup.
A soft brush, small broom, or even your hand can do the trick—just be
sure to avoid anything too abrasive to protect the surface of the dish.
Regularly
clearing away snow ensures optimal performance and keeps your signal
strong throughout the winter.

Remote access is key.
Ensuring MVM has
remote access to your Dish system allows our support team to monitor
performance and quickly diagnose any channel issues. This means faster
troubleshooting and efficient solutions to keep your service running
smoothly.
For sites with a laptop on-site: Please ensure the
laptop remains in the room with the SmartBox, connected to power, and
ready for use if needed. Occasionally, someone may need to “wake it up”
to re-establish access.
For sites with a hardwired connection: Make sure the
physical cable between the headend and switch is securely in place, and
that all connection details are current.
For sites without remote access: MVM can provide a
pre-configured device to establish a remote connection for a nominal
fee, please reach out to MVM Tech Support to review available options
to best suit your needs.

If you are requesting remote access,
please include the name of the property you are requesting remote
access for and the property address.
