Pairing a Remote to M2

Press the button on the front of the M2 until Pairing screen appears, then Press and Hold the Back and Home button on the remote until “Bonding” appears on the TV

Pair a remote to a new M2.  For existing remotes to existing M2, please confirm the correct remote is in the correct location.

Developer Mode

Enable in Android: About → Android TV OS build (press OK ×7)

Displays RSSI in Network; enables Wi-Fi verbose logging and tools

Disable MAC Randomization

Android → Network & Internet → [SSID] → Privacy → Use device MAC

Ensures stable identity and connectivity on Wi-Fi networks

Update Firmware via USB

Installer Menu → Device → Update Apps

Use when network update is unavailable; request latest FW from MVM


Quick Reference Instructions

Accessing the Installer Menu:

Home → Settings → OK → Press The Following On The Remote
FF, FF, RW, RW, PLAY, PLAY

Used To Provide The Following:
Summary (current app FW, SmartBox ID, Room #, connectivity, last CMP check-in)
Property (SmartBox ID); App (restart OnStream, clear app data, toggle OnStream Mode, refresh EPG)
Device (device info, update via USB, change Room #, open TV settings, reboot/clear data/factory reset)
Network; Diagnostics.

Onstream Setup Menu:

Home → Settings → OK → Press The Following On The Remote
UP, PLAY, PLAY, RW, RW, DOWN

Used For the Following:
Changing Room #
Obtaining SmartBox ID
Setting Stream source (set to QAM, Data channel per MVM)
Toggling “Start in OnStream Mode”.

ACCESSING THE ANDROID MENU (TV SETTINGS):

Home → Settings → TV Settings → Press The Following On Remote
UP, RW, RW, PLAY, PLAY, DOWN

Network/Internet: 
Change networks
View RSSI (with Developer Mode)
View number of visible APs. 
Device Preferences: 
About → System Update
Device Name (Room #)
Factory Reset; Android TV OS build → enable Developer Mode
Developer Options → Networking.

REMOTE PAIRING TO M2 

Note: Remotes typically do not loose pairing with their M2.  Please confirm the remote is in the correct location, and that remotes were not mixed up if multiple TVs are present in the suite.
Press the button on the front left of the M2 until the pairing screen appears on the TV.
Press and hold on the remote the Back and Home button at the same time, until “Bonding” appears on the TV (approx. 6 seconds).

ENABLE DEVELOPER MODE (TO VIEW RSSI):

Installer Menu → Network → Change WiFi → Android Settings → Device Preferences → About → Highlight “Android TV OS build”
Press OK ×7 to enable Developer Mode → Developer

Developer Mode Options: 
Enable Wireless display certification →
Wi‑Fi verbose logging →
Mobile data always active → 
Network & Internet shows RSSI

TURN OFF MAC RANDOMIZATION: 

Android Settings → Network & Internet → select connected SSID → Privacy → Use device MAC → Home.

UPDATE FIRMWARE VIA USB:

Use this when the M2 lacks network connectivity to download the newest firmware.

Home → Settings → Press The Following On Remote
FF, FF, RW, RW, PLAY, PLAY
Go To Summary

Provides Latest Firmware.  If the firmware version is 3.13.48 or higher, stop; if 3.12 or lower, continue.
Format a USB to FAT32
Request the most current version of FW from MVM
Load them onto the USB
Insert the USB into the M2
Navigate to “Device”
Navigate to “Update Apps”
Navigate to “LiveTV” and update this FW first
After this update completes, navigate to “OnStream” and update that FW
The M2 should reboot on its own
Live linear content should be available within 20 minutes with no network connectivity (quicker with network connectivity)

Troubleshooting Basic Issues:

TROUBLESHOOTING: CONSTANT POWER CYCLING / FACTORY RESET ONSTREAM BOX

While Launching Onstream  Press The Following On The Remote
FF, FF, UP, UP, RW, RW, DOWN, DOWN

TROUBLESHOOTING: FACTORY DEFAULT ONSTREAM BOX

Back, Back, press pairing button on front of M2 twice, Back, Back, press pairing button once.

New or Factory Reset Evolve M Series Setup

      1. When the  receiver is first powered on you will be prompted to pair the remote by holding the power button and the back simultaneously until the power button begins to blink.
      2. Next, select "English":
      3.  Next, select the WIFI network "STBstreaming" and input the password "147258369".
        1. If you are not able to connect, scroll down to "Other network". 
        2. Type in "STBstreaming", it "Continue".
        3. When prompted in Type of security, select WPA/WPA2 Personal
        4. Type in the password 147258369
        5. When password in fully typed in, select the check mark on the virtual keyboard to complete the connection process. 
      4. When connected to the network, the receiver will begin to download its' system update(s), this part normally takes about 10 to 15 minutes:
      5. Once the update is complete a Google sign in page will appear. Select "Skip".

      6. Next is the Google service page, hit "Accept".

      7. Then Google assistant will appear, hit "Skip"

      8. It will prompt you to set up Google assistant later, just hit "continue".

      9. Next you will see "Install additional apps", hit "continue"

      10. On the next screen, hit the right arrow key on the d-pad or the OK button 5 times.

      11. RCU updater will appear; it will either proceed after loading, or it will proceed with an update for the remote. This takes about a minute.

      12. Android TV will populate, press "dismiss" and navigate to the "App" page.

      13. Select "Onstream". The receiver will then load into the Onstream layout, this will take about 1 to 5 minutes.

      14. Onstream set-up will appear, enter the below:
        1. Room number the receiver will be installed in.
        2. SmartBox serial number (you can request this information from the MVM support team).
        3. Make sure sub-property is "N/A"
        4. Ensure "Start in Onstream" is selected.
        5. Hit Save.

      15. The receiver will restart, and will boot to the splash page.
